DANVILLE, Contra Costa County — October 26, 2026. Residents have one more week to explore more than 50 scarecrow displays created by downtown merchants for Danville’s 2026 Scarecrow Stroll. The town says the seasonal displays opened October 1 and are planned to remain up through Sunday, November 1.
What visitors can see
Participating downtown businesses have decorated storefronts with imaginative scarecrow figures. The town encourages visitors to walk through shopping streets, see how many displays they can find, vote for their favorites and explore local businesses. Unlike a ticketed concert, the official announcement describes a self-directed stroll rather than a fixed start time or required single venue.
Finding participating businesses
Danville groups the event with other fall activities at its official seasonal events guide. Residents planning a particular store visit should check that business’s operating hours and the town’s posted event details. The event does not imply every downtown business participates or that shops will all remain open late.
The Scarecrow Stroll is separate from the Town’s Art in the Dark gallery exhibition and children’s painting workshops, which California58 covers in another local article. Keeping them separate helps families find the correct dates and venues without confusing a storefront display with a scheduled class.
